Age Limit
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 to 37 years of age as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per instructions of the Hon’ble High Court and Punjab Government.
- Domicile: Only EWS, Scheduled Caste, BC/OBC, Ex-Serviceman, and Freedom Fighter candidates of Punjab domicile are eligible for reservation benefits. All reserve category candidates must attach a valid category certificate issued by the competent authority, failing which they will be considered under the General Category.

- Core Education: Bachelor’s degree of Arts (BA) or Bachelor’s of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent thereto from a recognized university.

- Computer Skills: Must have proficiency in operation of computers.

Selection Methodology
The evaluation process is conducted manually through a written examination followed by a skill test:
- Written Examination: Candidates will appear in a written test consisting of two subjects — English Composition (50 marks, 33% qualifying) and General Knowledge (50 marks, 33% qualifying). A minimum aggregate score of 40% is required for appointment consideration.
- Computer Proficiency Test: Shortlisted candidates (up to 10 times the number of vacancies, based on written test merit list) will be called for a Computer Proficiency Test covering Word Processing and Spreadsheet.
- Venue: Office of the District and Sessions Judge, New Judicial Courts Complex, Ludhiana. Exact details will be displayed on the official website and notice board of the office.
HOW TO APPLY
- Download the prescribed application proforma (Employment Notice No. 2 of 2026) from the official website: https://ludhiana.dcourts.gov.in/
- Fill the application form legibly in CAPITAL LETTERS with complete particulars.
- Attach two passport size photographs (one to be pasted on the right upper side of the proforma, one to be stapled).
- Attach attested copies of all relevant testimonials including proof of qualification, date of birth, category certificate, domicile/residence certificate, and Aadhaar card/ID proof.
- Place all documents in an envelope superscribed as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CLERK ON ADHOC BASIS”. Each envelope must contain only one application.
