| Educational Qualification – Trade Apprentice (ITI Holders) | Full-time ITI (National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or State Trade Certificate issued by SCVT) from an institution recognized by State/Central Government in the relevant trade, passed during 2022–2026. Minimum 60% marks in qualifying exam (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). Equivalency Certificate required if qualification is equivalent. |
| Educational Qualification – Graduate Apprentice (B.Tech/B.E.) | B.Tech/B.E. Degree in Engineering/Technology granted by a statutory University or institution empowered by an Act of Parliament in the relevant discipline, passed during 2022–2026. CGPA/OGPA/CPI: if University defines conversion criteria, that is used; otherwise CGPA × 10 = % of marks. |
| Educational Qualification – Technician Apprentice (Diploma Holders) | Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution, passed during 2022–2026. Percentage of marks in qualifying exam is mandatory – must be entered in the “% of Marks/CGPA” column on NATS portal; if not furnished, candidature will not be considered. |

As per the 2026 apprenticeship notifications, Trade Apprentices (ITI) receive a monthly stipend of around Rs. 10,560, Technician Apprentices (Diploma) receive about Rs. 10,900, and Graduate Apprentices (B.Tech/B.E.) receive about Rs. 12,300 (including Government share). The stipend is paid for the entire one-year training period subject to satisfactory attendance and performance.
