POST DETAILS, SBI SCO ELIGIBILITY and QUALIFICATION:
Educational Qualification:
- Mandatory: MBBS from a recognized university/college approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council.
- Preferred: Post Graduate Diploma OR Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS or equivalent).
Work Experience (post-basic qualification, as on 31.05.2026):
- Candidates with only an MBBS degree need a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a General Practitioner, counted from the date of NMC/State Medical Council registration.
- Candidates with a postgraduate degree need a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a General Practitioner from the date of registration.
- Internship experience and teaching/training experience will not be counted toward this eligibility requirement.

SBI BMO Selection Process 2026
- Online Written Test – Tentatively scheduled for August 2026 across multiple centres nationwide; call letters will be issued via the Bank’s website, SMS, and email.
- Shortlisting – Based on Professional Knowledge cut-off marks, plus minimum qualifying marks in General Aptitude sections.
- Interview – Carries 100 marks; conducted for a category-wise adequate number of shortlisted candidates.
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) – Conducted for provisionally selected candidates before joining; candidates with 10th/12th mark sheets showing the relevant local language as a subject are exempted.
- Final Result & Wait List – A circle-wise and category-wise wait list valid for one year (or until a fresh advertisement, whichever is earlier) is maintained for non-joining or termination cases.
SBI SCO Salary 2026: Pay Scale & Perks
Selected candidates will be placed in the Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) with a basic pay structure of ₹64,820-2340/1-67,160-2680/10-93,960. In addition to basic pay, officers receive DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS contribution, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), and medical facilities as per Bank rules.
- Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA): 20% of Basic Pay.
- Higher Start: One increment for a postgraduate diploma; two increments for MD/MS or equivalent.
- Private Practice: Not permitted for BMOs.
- Conference Allowance: One local and one national medical conference may be permitted, subject to approval.
