Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) has released a notification for the post of ITAT Private Secretary Recruitment 2026. AGE DETAILS :
Age Limit
- For all candidates, age for applying to either post shall not exceed 35 years.
- Standard age relaxation, as per instructions/orders issued by the Central Government from time to time, is applicable for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates.
- The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the 30th day from the date of publication of the advertisement in “Employment News.”
- A separate crucial date consideration applies for candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Lahaul & Spiti district and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, as per the notification.
POST DETAILS, ELIGIBILITY and QUALIFICATION:
- Degree of a recognized University or equivalent
- Speed of 120 words per minute (WPM) in English Shorthand
- Working knowledge of computers, with the ability to operate software such as Microsoft Office, Excel or Page-Maker

- Applicants wishing to apply for both Senior Private Secretary and Private Secretary posts need to submit only a single application – a single examination will be conducted for both posts, and the post offered will depend on the rank secured in the consolidated merit list
- Upload self-attested copies of all required documents as listed above
- Submit the application within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in “Employment News”
- Regularly check the registered email and the official ITAT website (https://www.itat.gov.in) for updates on admit cards, skill test/interview call letters and results, as all communication will be sent by email only
