Selection Process
All candidates will undergo the recruitment process in the following sequence:
- (i) Written Examination,
- (ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET) including physical measurements and Trade Test (TT) where applicable,
- (iii) Primary Medical Examination (PME) and Document Verification (DV), and
- (iv) Induction/Joining. The PET and TT are qualifying in nature – final merit is based solely on written exam marks, subject to qualifying PET, TT, and clearing PME.
- Minimum passing marks in written exam: 50% for UR/EWS/OBC; 40% for SC/ST. Trade test requires minimum 40% marks to qualify.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidate must complete 1.6 km (1 mile) run in 10 minutes. PwBD, ESM, Ex-Agniveers, and departmental re-appointment candidates are exempt from PET.

- Application form and admit card must be downloaded from the official BRO website (www.bro.gov.in) and filled in English or Hindi only, in capital letters.
- The application form must be printed on A4 size 75 GSM bond paper (one side only) and admit card printed on both sides of a single paper.
- Candidates must first pay the application fee online via SBI Collect portal and attach the e-receipt copy.
- Candidates applying for more than one post must send separate applications with separate fee in separate envelopes.
- Candidates are strongly advised to send applications well before the closing date and not wait for the last day – GREF Centre will not be responsible for postal delays.
