POST DETAILS, ELIGIBILITY and QUALIFICATION:
Nationality
All applicants must be citizens of India.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Crucially, the final year mark sheet date must fall between January 1, 2022 and June 1, 2026 (both dates inclusive). Graduates who passed before January 1, 2022, or after June 1, 2026, are not eligible.
Prior Apprenticeship Condition
- Candidates must not have previously undergone apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 – either with NIACL or any other organization.
- Candidates currently pursuing an apprenticeship anywhere are also ineligible.
- Candidates with one or more years of job experience after graduation are not eligible.

The 550 training seats are distributed across states and Union Territories, with reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, General, and PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates. Here are the major states by seat count.

Seats in smaller states and UTs (such as Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, etc.) have 1 seat each in the General category. Seat numbers are tentative and may change based on actual company requirements.
PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Seats
PwBD reservations are allocated horizontally across categories. A total of 43 PwBD seats are available nationally, covering:
- VI (Visual Impairment): 36 seats
- HI (Hearing Impairment): 5 seats
- OH (Orthopedic/Locomotor): 1 seat
- ID/MD (Intellectual/Multiple Disabilities): 1 seat
NIACL Apprentices Selection Process
Selection happens in two main stages after fee payment. Here is what to expect at each stage.
Stage 1 – Online Written Test (Objective Type)
The online exam is held from home (proctored), using your own camera-enabled device – desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

- Duration: 60 minutes
- Tie-breaking rule: If two candidates score equally, the older candidate is ranked higher (descending age order).
Stage 2 – Regional Language Test & Document Verification
Candidates who clear the online written test are shortlisted in 3× the number of available seats per state per category for this stage.
- Candidates who studied the regional language of their chosen state in Class 10 or 12 are exempt from the language test.
- All others must demonstrate proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified local language of the state.
- Candidates failing the language test cannot be engaged as apprentices.
Document Verification Checklist
Carry originals plus self-attested photocopies of:
- Photo ID proof (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID / Driving License / Passport)
- Class 10 certificate (as proof of date of birth)
- Class 12 marksheets and graduation marksheets (semester/year-wise) with degree
- CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate (if applicable)
- SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD certificates with required declarations
Stipend, Training Conditions & What to Expect
This section covers what apprentices receive during training and the rules governing their engagement.
Stipend & Payment
- Monthly stipend: ₹12,300
- Payment is made by the 10th day of the following month
- No additional benefits, allowances, or statutory contributions (PF, Mediclaim, etc.) are provided
- Pro-rata deduction applies for unauthorized absences
Leave Policy
- 1 day of leave per month, credited at the beginning of the next month
- Leave can be carried forward but not more than 2 days at a time
- All accumulated leave lapses at the end of the contract
- Apprentices are entitled to all company-observed public holidays
Training Duration & Certification
- Training period: 12 months
- On completion, apprentices undergo an assessment (theory by BFSI SSC + practical by NIACL)
- Successful candidates receive an Apprenticeship Certificate from BFSI SSC
